What it is

Coda combines documents, spreadsheet-style tables, buttons and automations so teams can build their own trackers and lightweight internal tools in one doc. On 8 July 2026 it was rebranded Superhuman Docs after the Grammarly/Superhuman merger, list prices rose (Pro $12 and Business $33 per Doc Maker per month, billed annually) and only people who create docs pay; editors and viewers are free. The formula language and doc design take real effort to learn, and very large docs with many tables can lag.

Standout capability

Relational tables with buttons, formulas and automations inside a document, so a doc can act as a small app.

Community sentiment

What people praise

Long-term users like that one Coda doc can replace several separate tools, that automations and buttons save hours once set up, and that non-developers can build working internal tools.

What people complain about

The recurring complaints are a steep learning curve that needs a team champion, unhelpful formula error messages, lag in very large docs, a weak mobile editing experience and costs that climb once most members need maker access.

Regional pricing
Only Doc Makers (people who create docs) are billed; editors and viewers are free, so a five-person team with one maker would pay $12/mo on Pro. Team-of-five figure assumes five makers. Prices taken from third-party captures of superhuman.com/plans/docs (28 Oct 2026) because the vendor page renders client-side.

What we like

  • Only doc creators pay; editors and viewers are free
  • Generous free plan to start
  • Far more structure than a plain wiki

Worth knowing

  • Rebrand to Superhuman Docs came with a price increase
  • Hard to learn and easy to over-engineer
  • Large, table-heavy docs can slow down
